My first political campaign was ‘Nepal Khulla chha,’ which means ‘Nepal is Open.’ It was a movement aimed at defying political strikes that paralyzed the country. Over the years, I have participated in numerous political campaigns, including running for the Mayoral Position of Kathmandu City in the 2017 local election, where I secured the third position. I started my political journey in 2013 with Bibeksheel Nepali Dal which was later established as Bibeksheel Sajha Party in 2017. In 2025, we unified with Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) creating a single large Alternative Political Force in Nepal.
The year 2017 is a remarkable one for me from a hundred different aspects. Number One aspect is My Candidacy for the Position of Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. I was the face of that once-in-a-lifetime momentum that we Bibeksheel Nepali created collectively. It was a head-on challenge to the mainstream old parties against their mishandling of authority and fake promises over the years. We did not win but we broke through the wall of narratives that “Youths cannot do Politics”, and “Politics is only for old parties”. Fast forward to the next election in 2022, Nepal witnessed hundreds of youths contesting in elections. In 2023, I contested in the federal election for the position of member of the House of Representatives, though the result was not as successful as I hoped. Though I didn’t win both elections, I have not lost my hope. I am right now serving as the General Secretary of Bibeksheel Sajha Party.
Beyond Nepal, I have had the opportunity to travel to various countries for political workshops and learning exchanges. Academically, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies from Kathmandu University and a Masters Degree in Political Science from Tribhuvan University. I have also pursued Post Graduate Diploma in Counseling Psychology.
On a personal note, I am happily married to my love, Kishu, who is the backbone and pillar in my journey ❤️
